Missionary Call Acceptance Letter

Yesterday Zach wrote out his "Missionary Call Acceptance" paper. I made a copy of the blank form so he could do a practice page. Tony and I came up with some "bullet point" items he should cover. Zach thought we were being stupid and he just wanted to say that he accepted the call and be done with it. Finally, he acquiesced to sit down and write it like we told him. After a while he came to me and handed me a page that was FILLED with his response. I smiled big at him and told him thank you....

Dear Brethren:

Thank you for taking the time to call me to the work. I'm sure while in the field my testimony and faith will grow. I'm looking forward to serving and accept the call. I regret to inform you all of these feelings have come to naught. You see, I have joined the circus and wish to search advancements in this particular field. This news and information should not be taken lightly. Please understand that I am quite serious about this and do not wish to be bothered by any efforts to deter my intent. I assure you my wife, Brune Hilda, also known as the Bearded Lady, and I will be very happy. Please respect our wishes to travel the world, like monkeys.

We obviously did not send that particular response. It turns out that I ended up being very happy with a succinct acceptance letter!

Is it too late to send the original version??

Yes, I think it is too late. Perhaps Brune Hilda will wait for him.
